Nancy Lang, a South Korean visual artist and television personality, is under police investigation on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on the 8th that it had booked Lang for violating the Road Traffic Act.
Police said Lang is suspected of driving in the Gangnam district of Seoul at about 3:45 a.m. that day while intoxicated. A breath test conducted at the scene showed a blood alcohol level high enough to warrant revocation of a driver's license, according to police.
Lang agreed to accompany officers voluntarily for questioning, police said, adding that they will determine the circumstances of the driving and the route taken before deciding how to handle the case.
Lang, 50, has said she struggled with debt taken on during her marriage to Wang Jin-jin. Appearing on MBN's "Scoop World" in January, she said debt incurred eight years ago from banks and non-bank lenders had grown to 1.5 billion won from 800 million won, with monthly interest payments alone reaching 13 million won.
Lang has continued to work as an artist. On the YouTube channel "Dakter Shin" in July, she discussed preparations for a solo exhibition and said some of the works on display were priced at 25 million won and 7 million won.
