Harman's audio brand JBL said on the 7th that it is launching the JBL Xtreme 5, a portable Bluetooth speaker.
The new model delivers 10% stronger bass than its predecessor. It carries dual tweeters and a subwoofer, with higher output for louder, clearer sound.
The speaker also uses artificial intelligence to adjust sound quality. AI Sound Boost reduces distortion at high volumes, while Smart EQ Mode analyzes the content being played and automatically tunes the sound for music or voice.
Ambient lighting along the edge of the device can be set to six different modes. The speaker carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a rubber trim that absorbs impact and a base structure that lets it stand upright.
The battery lasts up to 24 hours, with an additional four hours available through Playtime Boost EQ. The speaker also supports Auracast for connecting multiple speakers at once, lossless USB audio playback and a JBL EasySing microphone connection.
The JBL Xtreme 5 comes in black and will be sold on Samsung.com and major online retailers. It is priced at 449,000 won.
The JBL Xtreme 5 received a five-star rating, the highest available, from British audio magazine What Hi-Fi?.
