KG Mobility (003620) said on the 1st that it sold a total of 6,860 vehicles in August, including 2,300 units in the domestic market and 4,560 units overseas. The figure marks a 22.6% decline from 8,860 units a year earlier.
The contraction in domestic consumption weighed more heavily on results. Domestic sales fell 43.3% from 4,055 units a year earlier, while exports declined 5.1% from 4,805 units.
On a cumulative basis this year, however, domestic sales held roughly steady at 26,716 units, compared with 26,832 units in the same period last year.
Exports rose 1.2% to 45,454 units from 44,920 units a year earlier, lifted by stronger sales in markets including Turkey and Hungary.
KGM is strengthening its response to both global and domestic markets to boost sales volume.
To expand export volumes, the company launched the KGM brand in Myanmar last month and introduced its electric vehicle lineup, including the Torres EVX and the Musso EV.
The company will also gradually expand its knock-down (KD) assembly operations in Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
In the domestic market, KGM is widening customer touchpoints through activities such as participating in EV Trend Korea 2026 and sponsoring the 15th KG Ladies Open.
