Day1Company (373160.KQ), an educational content firm, is moving into training talent for the artificial intelligence hardware and infrastructure sector.
The company said on the 25th that it is launching an AI hardware and infrastructure training academy called Day 1 Talent Foundry. The move reflects a view that demand for specialized workers is rising as the AI industry spreads beyond software into hardware and infrastructure as a whole.
Day1Company will first recruit staff to lead the business overall — including planning, development and education — along with field experts in areas such as semiconductors, data centers, power, cooling and robotics. It plans to build a talent-training system tailored to on-site demand, centered on these specialized workers.
The academy will develop hands-on training courses that use actual equipment, focused on linking to technical certifications in fields such as semiconductors and robotics. The company plans to expand this into training for current corporate employees, hiring-linked programs, and workforce development projects run by the central and local governments.
The company has recently ramped up its business helping companies with their AI transformation (AX), including an open recruitment drive for about 100 specialists, as it broadens its business around AI. The plan is to build an AI business portfolio spanning corporate AX and the supply of industrial talent to support it.
"As AI expands into physical industries, demand for talent will grow in sectors where Korea has strengths, such as semiconductors," said Lee Kang-min, Chief AI Officer (CAIO) at Day1Company. "We will systematically train the talent that companies and workplaces need, and build a talent pipeline that connects them to actual jobs."
