IPARK Hyundai Development Corporation has launched a community-focused social contribution program by donating shared umbrellas for local residents to use together.
The company said on the 13th that it delivered 400 "Umbrellas for Everyone" shared umbrellas to the Wolgye Siyeong Apartment complex in Nowon-gu, Seoul. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Seoul Volunteer Center, with umbrellas placed within the complex so residents can use them freely when caught by sudden rain.
"Umbrellas for Everyone" operates on a sharing model in which people who need an umbrella return it to a designated spot after use. According to the company, the initiative goes beyond a one-time donation of goods by having residents share a single item, adding meaning tied to sharing and resource recycling.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Woo Won-shik, a lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea; Seo Jun-oh, head of Nowon-gu Office; Nowon district council members Yoo Jung-soo, Lee Soo-geun and Kang Mi-kyung; Kim Wook-jin, chairman of the Wolgye Siyeong Apartment residents' representative council; and Shin Wang-seop, head of IPARK Hyundai Development's ESG communications office.
IPARK Hyundai Development said it plans to continue social contribution activities that residents can feel in their daily lives, using this shared umbrella donation as a starting point.
An IPARK Hyundai Development official said, "We will look closely at the inconveniences and needs residents face in daily life and steadily expand community-focused social contribution activities that residents can directly experience."
