Hanmi Science (008930.KS), the holding company of Hanmi Group, is pushing into workflow innovation and digital transformation built on AI Transformation, or AX, in partnership with Megazone, a specialist in AI and cloud services.
Hanmi Science said it signed a memorandum of understanding on AX-based operations at Hanmi Group headquarters in Seoul's Songpa district on the 26th. Attendees included Hanmi Science Chief Executive Kim Jae-kyo, President Lim Jong-hoon, Megazone Cloud Chairman Lee Joo-wan and Megazone Chief Executive Jang Ji-hwang.
The agreement is designed to combine Hanmi Science's expertise in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries with Megazone's AI and cloud technology to improve operational efficiency and strengthen the group's digital innovation capabilities.
Megazone runs digital technology businesses spanning AI, cloud, cybersecurity and digital marketing through 33 affiliates at home and abroad, including Megazone Cloud. It also maintains local operations in nine countries, among them the United States, Japan, China and Vietnam.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly pursue the identification of AX-based workflow innovation projects, the strengthening of digital transformation capabilities, and projects tied to AI and digital innovation. They plan to form a working-level body to map out specific joint projects and implementation plans, and to expand the scope of cooperation in stages.
Hanmi Science has recently been running a "Hanmi AI Boost Program" across all group affiliates, including Hanmi Pharmaceutical (128940.KS), to spread a culture of AI use and identify cases of workflow innovation.
"Through this agreement, we will expand AX-based workflow innovation across Hanmi Group and build a digital work environment where employees can work more efficiently," Kim said.
"By adding Megazone's cloud- and AI-based workflow innovation capabilities to Hanmi Science's pharmaceutical and healthcare expertise, we will build business models that can create new value," Jang said.
