
ULSAN — Three workers fell after a steel structure collapsed during concrete pouring at an apartment construction site in Ulsan's Jung-gu district, authorities said.
According to the Ulsan Fire Headquarters, the steel structure collapsed at about 11:39 a.m. on the 25th during concrete pouring at an apartment construction site in Haksan-dong, Jung-gu.
Three of seven workers who had been working on the third basement level fell about 5 meters to the floor of the fourth basement level.
Two of the three escaped on their own immediately after the accident, while the remaining worker was rescued using a tower crane at the site.
Eight pieces of firefighting equipment and 28 rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene. The injured were identified as two men in their 60s and one man in his 30s. All suffered minor injuries such as abrasions and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, with no threat to their lives.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether safety rules were followed, by questioning those involved at the site.
