
A magnitude 2.5 earthquake struck a sea area 35 kilometers south-southwest of Baengnyeong Island in Ongjin County, Incheon, at around 8:55 p.m. on the 24th.
The earthquake was centered at 37.66 degrees north latitude and 124.54 degrees east longitude at a depth of 17 kilometers, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
The measured intensity reached a maximum of Level I. At intensity Level I, an earthquake is not felt by most people but is recorded by seismographs.
The KMA said no damage was expected from the quake.
