
ULSAN — Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Shin-Ulchin Nuclear Power Division said on the 26th that Shin-Ulchin Unit 1, a 1.4-gigawatt pressurized water reactor, had reached 100% normal output after completing its sixth scheduled maintenance overhaul.
Unit 1 began the sixth scheduled maintenance on July 2 and resumed power generation on the 23rd after inspecting and servicing major equipment. It reached 100% output at around 3:07 a.m. on the 26th, entering stable operation.
The Shin-Ulchin Nuclear Power Division said the reactor underwent statutory inspections required under the Nuclear Safety Act during the maintenance period. It added that it had replaced nuclear fuel and serviced and inspected major machinery and equipment, improving the safety and reliability of the generating facilities.
