
Heavy rain that fell on the southern part of Gyeonggi Province on the 9th caused a series of flooding incidents in roads and homes.
According to the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters, the agency carried out a total of 86 rain response activities from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day, including 81 safety measures, four drainage support operations, and one rescue. Fortunately, no casualties occurred.
At around 11:02 a.m., three vehicles were flooded in Anhyeon-dong, Siheung, trapping four citizens inside, all of whom were rescued by responding rescue crews. Around the same time, a vehicle was also flooded on a road in the Bangsan-dong area of Siheung, where safety measures were taken.
Earlier, at around 9:56 a.m., a ceiling collapse accident occurred at a factory in Geumui-ri, Hwaseong, and at around 12:52 p.m., part of the ground near a multi-household house subsided in Gaeksa-ri, Paengseong-eup, Pyeongtaek, prompting fire authorities to take safety measures.
Meanwhile, the heavy rain warnings issued for 20 cities and counties in the Gyeonggi region that day were all lifted in the afternoon as the weather cleared.
