ILLIT (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Iroha) released the first episode of the new season of "SUPER ILLIT," titled "Ranking Gukbap for You," through the team's official YouTube channel on the 24th.
In "SUPER ILLIT," which returned after about five months, ILLIT showed off an unusual love for gukbap, a Korean rice-and-soup dish, giving off a friendly and easygoing charm. The members, who enjoy gukbap so much that they often gift it to fans, showcased their individual tastes in the dish that day.
On the news that the production team would pick the best gukbap by vote, the members entered a fierce competition, each pitching their recommended restaurants and the standout features of the dishes. Yunah introduced pork gukbap brought in from Busan, Minju presented sundae gukbap she used to enjoy as a trainee, Wonhee offered seonji gukbap from one of Seoul's three renowned hangover-soup restaurants with a 60-year history, and Iroha introduced kongnamul gukbap from a restaurant ranked No. 1 among both locals and foreigners.
Iroha, who is from Japan, drew laughs from viewers by saying, "I came to Korea to eat kongnamul gukbap. I learned Korean to read the menu." After a close contest, Wonhee, who claimed the final No. 1 title, cheered and jumped for joy. Yunah, who finished last, wrapped up the lighthearted "gukbap election" by treating the entire production team to ice cream as a penalty.
"SUPER ILLIT" is an original content series depicting ILLIT's efforts to become "ZZANG," or the best, in every field, not just singing and performing. The members' outstanding sense of humor combined with their honest and quirky charm has made the show a favorite piece of self-produced content among people in their teens and 20s. The next episode will be released on the 31st at 9 p.m.
