Seoul Housing & Urban Development Corporation (SH) has donated 50 million won to support residents displaced by torrential rains and to help fund recovery work in damaged areas.
The state-run corporation said on the 9th that it delivered the 50 million won in relief funds to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association at its headquarters. An additional 3.37 million won, raised voluntarily by employees, was contributed alongside the donation. The funds will be used to help displaced residents rebuild their daily lives and to repair damage in areas hit by this year's heavy rains, including South Gyeongsang Province.
SH has made donations to support affected residents each time a disaster has occurred. It contributed relief funds for the 2019 wildfires in Gangwon Province, the 2022 wildfires in North Gyeongsang and Gangwon provinces, the 2025 wildfires in North Gyeongsang Province and Ulsan, and a factory fire in Daejeon earlier this year. Including the latest contribution, cumulative donations to Hope Bridge total about 175 million won.
"I hope this provides at least some measure of support to residents who have lost their homes and are struggling in the wake of these sudden rains," SH President Hwang Sang-ha said. "We will continue to help neighbors facing hardship from disasters return to normal life quickly, and fulfill our social responsibility as a public corporation that grows together with local communities."
