SK Intelix said on the 26th that its wellness robot NAMUHX won the IR52 Jang Young-sil Award, a prize for industrial technology.
The IR52 Jang Young-sil Award, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Industrial Technology Association, has recognized new-technology products and research organizations with outstanding technological innovation since 1991. The award ceremony was held on the 25th at the Peace and Park Convention in Yongsan District, Seoul. It was attended by Lim Tae-bin, head of the production and quality division; Ryu Ki-cheol, head of the AX Tech office; and Ko Ki-yeong, head of the production office, who led the development of NAMUHX.
NAMUHX is a wellness robot that combines artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics to provide health management and lifestyle convenience features. It includes a self-driving "air solution" that detects sources of air pollution in different spaces, moves on its own and purifies the air, as well as an interaction feature that controls functions by voice using an on-device large language model (LLM) without an internet connection. It also carries a feature that measures five key health indicators without physical contact.
The robot integrates into a single device a "SafeCare" function that checks user safety in real time and a "My Healthcare" function that supports personalized health management. For its privacy protection and information security management system, it has obtained certification under the international standard ISO/IEC 27001.
SK Intelix said the award recognizes the technological innovation of the AI and robotics technology and wellness features applied to NAMUHX.
