Bodyfriend said on the 26th that its generative artificial intelligence (AI) massage technology has become the first in the industry to earn AI+ certification from the Korean Standards Association.
The AI+ certification is a product-quality standard for AI jointly developed by the Korean Standards Association and Wisestone. Based on international standards for AI quality, it objectively assesses the performance and quality of AI-based products and services through quality testing as well as document and on-site reviews.
The certification verified, on a quantitative basis, the performance of "natural-language-based inference of massage areas," a core function of "Blocks," the generative AI massage technology developed in-house by Bodyfriend's R&D Center. It means a third party has recognized the core technology, in which the AI understands and infers the intent behind a user's words, generates a suitable massage program and then translates it into device control.
Bodyfriend's generative AI technology differs from methods that simply recommend and provide preset massage programs. Each time the user and the device converse, the system can generate massage programs in diverse combinations, using more than 130 massage-motion blocks as building materials to combine detailed body areas and massage durations down to minutes and seconds. The certified technology will be applied in sequence to products such as the Quantum AI Pro, DaVinci AI Pro and the 733, all slated for release in the second half of the year.
A Bodyfriend official said, "This certification is not about simply adding the AI label to a healthcare robot, but the result of objectively confirming the quality of a core technology that understands a user's words and turns them into actual massage motions." The official added, "Going forward, we will continue to provide sophisticated healthcare experiences suited to each individual's real needs, physical condition and preferences, through the convergence of AI, robotics and digital healthcare."
