The stocks most heavily net-bought by high-return investors trading at Mirae Asset Securities (006800.KS) on the morning of the 31st were Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Jeju Semiconductor, and Samsung Electronics, in that order. The most heavily net-sold stocks were SK hynix (000660.KS), Samsung Electronics preferred shares, and LS Electric.
According to Mirae Asset Securities that day, "stock market gurus" — those in the top 1% of returns over the past month among the brokerage's trading clients — net-sold SK hynix the most as of 11 a.m. SK hynix had also ranked second in net selling the previous day, behind Samsung Electronics, but rose to the top of the net-selling list that day. The move is interpreted as profit-taking after SK hynix surged more than 20% intraday on the back of an overnight rally in U.S. semiconductor stocks.
SK hynix traded at 1.639 million won as of 11 a.m., up 23.98% from the previous trading session. During the session, it rose as high as 1.714 million won, approaching its daily upper limit. Semiconductor stocks rebounded across the board, with Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) also posting gains of more than 20%, but the top traders instead moved to take profits. Samsung Electronics preferred shares ranked second in net selling and SK Square ranked sixth, with large-cap semiconductor-related stocks featuring prominently among the top sells. Large-cap stocks dominated the top of the net-selling list. KB Financial Group, Doosan Enerbility, and SK Square were among the profit-taking targets.
By contrast, the top net-bought stocks were Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Jeju Semiconductor, and Samsung Electronics. They were followed by LG Electronics, VM, and Hanmi Semiconductor, with buying centered on semiconductor, electronics, and materials-parts-equipment stocks. Samsung Electro-Mechanics hit its daily upper limit intraday, while Jeju Semiconductor and Hanmi Semiconductor both rose more than 20%, benefiting from a recovery in investor sentiment toward AI semiconductors.
Mirae Asset Securities compiles the trades of investors ranking in the top 1% of returns over the past month among its clients and discloses them on its mobile trading system (MTS) on a real-time, previous-day, and five-day basis.
