
Sweltering heat and tropical nights continued across the country on the 24th, with scattered showers expected in some areas.
In the afternoon, heavy rain is forecast for the southeastern inland areas of South Chungcheong Province, southern North Chungcheong Province and Jeju Island. From the afternoon into the evening, showers are expected in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, the central and northern inland areas of Gangwon Province, inland North Jeolla Province, the South Jeolla region, the southern inland areas of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, and the western inland areas of South Gyeongsang Province.
Expected rainfall is 5 to 20 millimeters in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, the central and northern inland areas of Gangwon Province, and Jeju Island. The southeastern inland areas of South Chungcheong Province and southern North Chungcheong Province are expected to see 5 to 40 millimeters, while Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, inland North Jeolla Province, the southern inland areas of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, and the western inland areas of South Gyeongsang Province are forecast to receive 5 to 50 millimeters.
The showers may be accompanied by gusts of wind, thunder and lightning.
Morning lows on the day were forecast at 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 31 to 36 degrees.
For the time being, the maximum perceived temperature across most of the country will climb to around 33 degrees, making for hot conditions. In some areas, daytime heat will not fall enough overnight, resulting in tropical nights.
