Yuhan Corporation (000100) said on the 21st that 100 of its employees held a volunteer activity to assemble "Patriotic Antiphlamine Sharing Boxes" for delivery to national merit recipients.
The donation of Patriotic Antiphlamine Sharing Boxes began in 2017, based on field feedback that elderly national merit recipients have high demand for pain-relief patches due to chronic arthritis and neuralgia. This year marks its 10th year.
Antiphlamine is a medicine that Yuhan developed on its own in 1933. Starting with an ointment, the company has expanded its formulations to include lotions, patches and cool gels.
The sharing boxes made this year will be delivered to 1,400 low-income national merit recipients. Cumulative beneficiaries over the 10 years reach 8,761. With an agreement signed this month with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the identification of recipients and the delivery system have been expanded.
"As employees assembled the boxes themselves, it became a time to reflect on the dedication of national merit recipients," a Yuhan official said. "Based on cooperation with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Korean Pharmaceutical Association, we will steadily expand activities supporting a healthy later life for the elderly."
