Hancom (030520.KS) is expanding its AI transformation business using neural processing units into the corporate and public sectors, teaming up with affiliate Hancom Innostream and AI chip developer FuriosaAI. The three companies plan to jointly develop an AX appliance package that combines the agentic operating system Hancom is developing with FuriosaAI's AI accelerator, offering an integrated solution spanning software and AI chips.
Hancom said on the 8th that it had signed a three-way memorandum of understanding with Hancom Innostream and FuriosaAI to cooperate on AI transformation projects. The companies will combine Hancom's agentic OS with RNGD, FuriosaAI's second-generation AI accelerator, to develop an AX appliance that allows companies and public institutions to build and run AI systems in their own environments.
Under the agreement, Hancom will oversee development and commercialization of the AX solution. Hancom Innostream will train NPU specialists and run education programs to generate new demand, while FuriosaAI will supply RNGD and its software stack. FuriosaAI will also handle technical cooperation to optimize the AX appliance for NPU environments. The companies said they will build a framework covering workforce training and technology validation through to commercialization and joint sales in order to broaden the AX business.
Alongside the agreement, the three companies are launching a working group made up of key staff from each side. The group will discuss specific commercialization plans, including the development and productization of the AX appliance.
"Based on close cooperation that runs from training AI specialists to technology validation and commercialization, we will support the AI transformation of companies and public institutions and accelerate our push into the market," Hancom CEO Kim Yeon-soo said.
