Humax Mobility, a mobility infrastructure company, posted an operating profit of 1.85 billion won in the first half.
The company said on the 27th that it recorded consolidated revenue of 130.6 billion won and operating profit of 1.85 billion won in the first half. That marks a turnaround from an operating loss of 8.9 billion won a year earlier. Humax Mobility has now logged operating profits for two consecutive quarters this year, according to the company.
The improvement was led by its core mobility infrastructure businesses, including parking and electric vehicle charging. HiParking, which runs the parking infrastructure business, posted first-half revenue of 98.6 billion won and operating profit of 7.9 billion won. Operating profit rose 66% from a year earlier, and the operating margin climbed to 8% from 5%.
Humax EV, which handles the electric vehicle charging business, also sustained both growth and improving profitability. First-half revenue rose 28% from a year earlier to 23 billion won. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) turned positive at about 3 billion won in the first half.
Humax Mobility plans to keep improving parking operations and the profitability of its EV charging business in the second half. It also aims to strengthen the competitiveness of its mobility infrastructure through more advanced artificial intelligence and data-driven operations.
"Strengthening the competitiveness of our core infrastructure businesses, such as parking and EV charging, is translating into real gains in profitability," said Jung Sung-min, chief executive of Humax Mobility. "We will develop our parking and charging infrastructure, operating expertise and data-based technology into a core mobility hub for the era of autonomous driving and robotaxis."
