Celltrion (068270.KS) has launched a 300mg version of Omlyclo, its treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergic asthma, in major European markets, expanding its presence in the region.
The company said on the 25th that it began supplying the 300mg product to Germany, Britain, France and other key markets from the middle of this year, following the launch of 75mg and 150mg versions in Europe late last year. Omlyclo's active ingredient is omalizumab. Celltrion plans to expand sales across the rest of Europe.
The 300mg product improves dosing convenience for patients. Previously, patients requiring a 300mg dose had to receive two 150mg injections, but the 300mg product can be administered in a single injection.
Celltrion supplies the 300mg product in two forms: a prefilled syringe (PFS) and an auto-injector (AI). Adding the 300mg to the existing 75mg and 150mg options broadens the range of choices by dose and delivery method.
The product also offers extended storage. Omlyclo 300mg can be kept for up to two years under refrigeration (2-8°C) and up to seven days at room temperature (up to 25°C). It can also be returned to refrigerated storage after being kept at room temperature.
Building on the 300mg launch, Celltrion plans to focus on winning tenders and expanding supply in major European markets in the second half. In June, it also introduced Omlyclo 300mg to medical professionals at local conferences including the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
"The 300mg launch allows us to offer patients and medical professionals a range of treatment options," said Ha Tae-hoon, head of Celltrion's Europe division. "Based on our product lineup, we will strengthen our competitiveness in tenders in key markets and expand sales across Europe."
