The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) has unveiled a new vision to become "a global technology hub designing humanity's tomorrow" as it marks its 35th anniversary.
KETI said on the 23rd that it announced the new vision at a 35th-anniversary ceremony held on the 21st at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province. The vision reflects the institute's determination to grow into a global research organization that leads changes in future industries and society, drawing on the electronics and information technology (IT) capabilities it has built over 35 years.
The vision was launched to respond proactively to an external environment in which technological rivalry over leadership in artificial intelligence (AI) is intensifying and the industrial ecosystem is changing rapidly. It was selected through a survey of all employees, part of a plan to build consensus among staff on KETI's direction and to unite the capabilities of the entire workforce.
At the anniversary ceremony, Moon Shin-hak, vice minister of trade, industry and energy, said in a congratulatory address that "KETI's role is more important than ever in preparing for a new leap forward in the AI era and in spreading the M.AX (Manufacturing AX) ecosystem across industry, centered on the regions." KETI President Noh Kun-ki said the new vision is "a pledge by all members to design and realize a desirable future for humanity based on innovative technology," adding that KETI "will do its best to ensure that its employees share the new vision and core values and that it is reborn as a research institute leading change in industry, the regions and society."
With the launch of the new vision, KETI plans to reflect future-oriented values and direction across its research and development (R&D) activities and to expand cooperation with industry, academia and research institutions at home and abroad, strengthening global technological cooperation and joint research.
