AhnLab (053800.KQ) has released an application programming interface (API)-based security product that automatically delivers cyber threat information—including malicious internet protocol (IP) addresses, URLs, and files—to corporate security solutions.
AhnLab announced on the 24th that it has launched 'AhnLab TIP API,' which provides threat intelligence from its threat intelligence platform 'AhnLab TIP' in API form. An API refers to a protocol that allows different software to communicate and exchange data.
AhnLab TIP is a platform that supports customers' security decision-making by providing threat information collected and analyzed by AhnLab. The newly launched AhnLab TIP API provides AhnLab TIP's core threat information—such as malicious IPs, URLs, domains, and files—in the form of the global standard 'RESTful API.' Unlike the existing AhnLab TIP, which is a portal-based service, AhnLab TIP API is a dedicated API product focused on integration with other security solutions.
AhnLab TIP API enables customers to automatically query threat information highly relevant to their own security environment and immediately reflect it in security policies and response processes. A key feature of AhnLab TIP API is that it integrates easily with various security environments. It can connect with third-party security solutions or with security information and event management (SIEM) and security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) systems built in-house by customers.
It also allows threat information to be automatically queried and used in response decision-making. For example, when a specific IP address is detected at a firewall, users can check the risk level of that IP and related threat information in real time through AhnLab TIP API, and respond quickly by applying blocking policies based on the results.
AhnLab TIP API also supports the enhancement of security monitoring environments. In security monitoring environments where large volumes of security events occur, the ability to rapidly analyze threats and accurately determine response priorities is important. AhnLab TIP API integrates AI-based analyzed and refined threat information with the SOC environment in real time, enabling users to quickly assess threat risk levels and carry out appropriate responses.
Meanwhile, AhnLab has also launched 'AhnLab TIP Starter,' which offers both portal and API functions. It is a product designed to allow existing and new customers using AhnLab's security solutions to experience AhnLab TIP at a reasonable cost.
Kim Chang-hee, head of AhnLab's Product Planning Division, said, "As domestic and international cyber threats have grown more sophisticated recently, interest in threat intelligence for proactive security has been rising." He added, "AhnLab TIP API is the optimal choice for maximizing the utility of threat intelligence, not only in terms of integration with heterogeneous security solutions, but also in terms of cost."
