The venues for South Korea's national football team friendlies in September and October, to be played under an interim manager, have been confirmed.
The Korea Football Association said on the 18th that the four Hana Bank-sponsored friendly matches to be held in Korea in September and October will take place in Suwon, Seoul, Ulsan and Yongin, in that order.
The September 24 match against Ecuador, the team's first since the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, will be held at Suwon World Cup Stadium. The September 28 match against Uruguay will take place at Seoul World Cup Stadium. In October, the team will face Venezuela at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on the 2nd and clash with Uzbekistan at Yongin Mir Stadium on the 6th. All four matches start at 8 p.m.
It will be the first time the senior national team has played at home in about 10 months, since a friendly against Ghana at Seoul World Cup Stadium in November 2025.
Suwon will host its first national team match since the World Cup qualifier against Jordan in March 2025. Yongin will see a national team match for the first time in about a year, since the 2025 EAFF E-1 Championship (East Asian Cup) held last year. Ulsan will stage its first A-match in about three years and six months, since the match against Colombia in March 2023.
The national team will play a total of six A-matches under the interim manager — four in September and October, and two in November. The opponents and venues for the two November matches have not yet been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the KFA opened a public recruitment process to fill the vacancy left by former manager Hong Myung-bo and closed applications on the 9th. The association is currently conducting online interviews with candidates who passed the document screening.
