
The South Korean women's compound archery team combined to win a bronze medal in the team event at the Archery World Cup.
According to the Korea Archery Association on the 9th, the team defeated China 231-227 in the bronze medal match at the 2026 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 4 held in Madrid, Spain, that day, earning a hard-fought bronze medal.
In the qualification round, Park Ye-rin (Korea National Sport University) placed 8th, Park Jung-yun (Changwon City Hall) 10th, and Kang Yeon-seo (Bucheon G-Sports) 25th, advancing to the main draw as the third-ranked team in qualifying. In the team competition, they beat strong teams in succession — Mexico in the round of 16 and Taiwan in the quarterfinals — to reach the semifinals, but lost to India 228-231.
In the individual event, Park Ye-rin and Park Jung-yun reached the round of 32, while Kang Yeon-seo was eliminated in the round of 48.
The men's compound team saw Choi Eun-kyu (Ulsan Nam-gu Office) and Choi Yong-hee (Hyundai Steel) advance to the individual round of 32, but Kim Jong-ho (Hyundai Steel) was eliminated in the round of 48. In the team event, they narrowly lost to Türkiye 234-235 by one point in the round of 16 to end the tournament.
The recurve team continued to display its world-leading form. In the men's division, Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall) placed 1st and Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office) 4th in qualifying, advancing directly to the round of 32, while Lee Woo-seok (Kolon) competed in the round of 96 as the 25th seed, defeating Ukraine's Viktor Ruban 6-0 in set points to reach the round of 48.
In the women's division, Oh Ye-jin (Gwangju Bank Ten Ten Archery Team) and Lee Yun-ji (Hyundai Mobis) placed 3rd and 6th in qualifying respectively, advancing directly to the round of 32, while Kang Chae-young (Hyundai Mobis) placed 9th and will prepare for the round of 48.
