GOYANG — KINTEX, South Korea's largest exhibition and convention center, has widened its holiday support from Goyang to the entire northwestern Gyeonggi Province region, strengthening its social responsibility role as a public institution ahead of Chuseok, the Korean harvest holiday.
KINTEX said on the 18th that it carried out the "2026 Happy Chuseok, Full of Sharing" social contribution program with the Gyeonggi No. 2 Regional Office of Good Neighbors to help marginalized groups. The program, designed to support the diets of vulnerable households facing heavier holiday spending burdens amid high inflation, expanded its coverage from Goyang alone to seven cities and counties in northwestern Gyeonggi, including Bucheon, Gimpo, Paju, Dongducheon, Yangju and Yeoncheon.
About 80 KINTEX executives and employees volunteered a day earlier to pack "Happiness Together" gift sets. The sets consisted mainly of convenient food items useful during the holiday period, such as instant rice, canned ham, ready-to-eat soups and stews, instant noodles and seasoned dried seaweed. They were shipped to recipient households immediately after packing.
"The growth KINTEX has achieved as Korea's leading exhibition infrastructure has been built on the deep trust of the local community," KINTEX Chief Executive Lee Min-woo said. "We will continue to take the lead in creating social value as a public institution and steadily broaden support programs that allow us to thrive together with the local community."
Beyond holiday food support, KINTEX runs seasonal welfare programs including summer heat relief supplies and kimchi-making sharing events. It also carries out a range of community programs, such as job support for people with severe disabilities and scholarships for middle and high school students.
