DAEGU — Suseong Alpha City Days, an industry and culture festival bringing together employees of companies based at the Daegu complex and local residents, opens on the 15th and runs for two days.
Hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan Government and organized by the Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency (DIP), the event aims to turn Suseong Alpha City — the largest cluster of artificial intelligence and software companies outside the greater Seoul area — into a place where people want to stay, with rest and culture alongside work rather than a site for work alone.
A series of lectures anchors the program. Following the opening ceremony on the 15th, Lee Se-dol, the 9-dan Go player known as a legend of the game, will speak on "After AlphaGo: A New Perspective on Coexistence Between AI and Humans."
Other speakers will cover the latest technology and industry trends, including YouTube creator Heo Seong-beom on the 15th, and Korean medicine doctor Jeong Won-gyu and Kyung Hee University professor Lee Kyoung-jun on the 16th.
Additional programs include an AI prompt battle, tours of companies based at Suseong Alpha City, a job fair and a screening event for AI digital media.
Food trucks and a flea market will also be set up, allowing visitors to sample a range of food in a relaxed setting.
Lunchtime busking and performances across various genres will run through the festival, and on the evening of the 16th, employees of the resident companies and residents will take part in the Suseong Alpha Star singing contest.
"This is the fourth year of the event, and we have prepared a range of participatory programs," said Lee Young-jun, acting head of DIP. "We will work to establish Suseong Alpha City as a core hub leading digital and AI innovation."
