DAEGU — Rep. Kim Seung-soo, who represents Daegu's Buk-B district, has been elected chairman of the People Power Party's Daegu chapter.
The party's Daegu chapter selected Kim at a recent steering committee meeting, where he ran unopposed.
Lawmakers from the Daegu area had earlier nominated Kim as the next chapter chairman at a People Power Party workshop held on the 27th of last month.
"Daegu is going through an extremely difficult period," Kim said. "I will gather the wisdom of our members to break through this crisis so that Daegu can rise again, and through that, lay the foundation for a return to power."
Kim, a two-term lawmaker, currently serves as the party's chief deputy floor leader for parliamentary operations.
