DAEJEON — Songchon Library in Daejeon's Daedeok District said on the 7th that it is accepting applications for "Songchon Children's PLAY LAB," a customized hands-on program for children.
The program covers three areas: reading, English and science. It will run for a total of 18 sessions at Songchon Library from Oct. 17 to Nov. 28.
For children aged 4 to 7 and their guardians, the library has prepared "Our Family's Noisy BOOK Adventure," which pairs picture books with post-reading activities. For first- and second-grade elementary students, it will offer "A Phonics and English Storybook Journey With a Native-Speaking Teacher," a phonics class linked to English-language stories.
The library will also run "Our Family Mechanical Engineering Mission Lab," in which children and their guardians experience the principles of mechanical engineering together.
"We designed the program so that children can easily approach reading, English and science through play and hands-on experience," Daedeok District Mayor Kim Chan-sool said.
