
A magnitude 2.2 earthquake struck Haenam County in South Jeolla Province.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said the quake occurred at 7:44:26 a.m. on the 28th, 21 kilometers west-northwest of Haenam County. The epicenter was located at 34.66 degrees north latitude and 126.40 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 21 kilometers.
The agency said it expects no damage from the quake.
The Haenam area has recorded 10 earthquakes of magnitude 2.0 or higher between the 14th and the 28th. A magnitude 3.1 quake struck on the 23rd.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety raised its crisis alert level to "caution" on the 23rd as tremors continued in the area.
