YONGIN — Yongin City will take part in the 2026 Advanced Semiconductor Packaging Show (ASPS), held at the Suwon Convention Center from the 26th to the 28th, to promote its local semiconductor industry base and business support policies. The city will operate an exhibition booth during the event and will also carry out investment-attraction activities targeting semiconductor companies.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Province and Suwon City, the expo is a specialized exhibition showcasing the latest technologies and products in advanced semiconductor packaging. Exhibits include semiconductor packaging and testing, process equipment, materials and components, thermal management solutions, electronic design automation (EDA) software and glass substrates.
At the event, the city will introduce its semiconductor policies. It will also explain measures to support demonstration projects for materials, parts and equipment companies, centered on its project to build the "Trinity Fab," a mini-fab linked to mass production of advanced semiconductors.
The city will also present its technology security and protection support programs for semiconductor companies. Key offerings include company-tailored technology security training, security consulting and technology-protection services. A program to subsidize the cost of using research and development (R&D) equipment in the semiconductor field is also among the items being promoted.
In particular, the city will focus on an equipment-usage subsidy program based on the Trinity Fab. Under the program, semiconductor materials, parts and equipment companies receive support for the costs of using equipment at institutions such as the Gyeonggi Institute of Science and Technology Promotion, the National NanoFab Center and the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials.
The city will also promote its talent development programs. These include support for establishing and operating a Yongin semiconductor Meister high school, support for the semiconductor specialized university project, and an executive program for a semiconductor education and industry-academia hub jointly pursued by Yongin City and the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
"This exhibition is an important venue for meeting companies and officials in the advanced packaging field," a city official said. "We will actively promote Yongin's semiconductor industry competitiveness and support policies so that it leads to attracting investment and strengthening the industrial ecosystem."
