Unopened parks in Happy City will be opened to citizens.
The National Agency for Administrative City Construction (NAACC) and Sejong City announced on the 27th that they will pursue a phased transfer of management rights so that citizens can promptly use parks that have been completed within the multifunctional administrative city but have not yet been opened.
In May, the NAACC and Sejong City conducted a joint on-site inspection of nine parks, including Doknakjeong Historical Park in Naseong-dong (Living Zone 2-4), the waterfront park in Bangok-dong (Living Zone 4-1) and the cultural park in Sanul-dong (Living Zone 6-3), checking the condition of facilities, tree growth environments and safety installations.
Based on the results of the joint inspection, the NAACC and Sejong City plan to cooperate closely and complete necessary measures before the transfer.
The waterfront park in Bangok-dong and the cultural park in Sanul-dong will be opened first within this year, while Doknakjeong Historical Park in Naseong-dong is scheduled to open in January 2027.
"We will actively cooperate on quality improvements so that citizens can use the parks in a more pleasant and safe environment," said Choi Si-bok, head of the NAACC's Urban Space and Architecture Division.
