
Prison sentences were finalized for Jeon Seong-bae, a shaman known as "Geonjin Beopsa" accused of receiving money and valuables from the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (Unification Church) in exchange for various favors in collusion with first lady Kim Keon-hee, and for Yoon Young-ho, the former head of the Unification Church's world headquarters, who provided the money and valuables.
The Supreme Court's third division, presided over by Justice Oh Seok-jun, on the 9th upheld the lower court's ruling sentencing Yoon to one year and six months in prison on charges of violating the Political Funds Act, occupational embezzlement, destruction of evidence, and violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act. The Supreme Court's third division, presided over by Justice Noh Kyung-pil, upheld the lower court's ruling sentencing Jeon, who was indicted under detention, to five years in prison on charges of brokering under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes and violating the Political Funds Act.

Yoon was sentenced to one year and six months in prison in the second trial on charges of delivering money and valuables, including a Graff diamond necklace and a Chanel bag, to Kim on multiple occasions through Jeon in 2022, and of channeling 100 million won in illegal political funds to political figures, including People Power Party lawmaker Kweon Seong-dong, from 2021 to 2024 while requesting support for Unification Church events.
Jeon was sentenced to five years in prison in the second trial. In addition to the charge of receiving money and valuables from the Unification Church in collusion with Kim, the appeals court found him guilty of receiving a total of 30 million won from Yoon in 2022 while demanding a "Tongil Group adviser" position in return for solicitation and brokering, and of receiving money and valuables amounting to 200 million won from companies between 2022 and 2025 in exchange for various favors.
