
Rain will fall across most of the country on Wednesday, July 8, with some areas experiencing gusty winds accompanied by thunder and lightning, prompting warnings to guard against safety accidents.
Heavy rain in the central region, North Jeolla, the northwestern part of South Jeolla, and the central and northern parts of North Gyeongsang could trigger heavy rain advisories. Expected rainfall is 50 to 100mm (more than 150mm in some areas) in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and the five West Sea islands; 80 to 150mm (more than 200mm in some areas) in Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong; 50 to 100mm (more than 150mm in some areas) in North Chungcheong; 80 to 150mm (more than 200mm in some areas) in North Jeolla; and 30 to 80mm (more than 100mm in some areas) in the northwestern part of South Jeolla.
Rainfall of 10 to 40mm is expected in Gwangju and South Jeolla (excluding the northwest); 50 to 100mm in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon (more than 150mm in some inland areas of central and southern Gangwon); 5 to 50mm on the east coast of Gangwon; 30 to 80mm in the central and northern parts of North Gyeongsang (more than 120mm in some areas); 20 to 60mm in Daegu and the southern part of North Gyeongsang; 5 to 40mm in the western inland areas of South Gyeongsang; and around 5mm on Jeju Island.
Hot weather will continue for the time being, with the possibility of tropical nights. Morning lows are forecast at 21 to 25 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs at 26 to 33 degrees.
Fine dust levels are expected to be "good" nationwide. Waves will reach 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters.
