PARIS — President Lee Jae-myung, on a state visit to France, attends the Korea-France Business Roundtable in Paris on the 8th, a corporate exchange event bringing together companies from both countries.
Presidential Chief Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung announced the plan in a written briefing. About 30 people will attend, including some 20 business leaders from the two countries and government officials from both sides.
The Korean delegation features a large contingent of business leaders, including Federation of Korean Industries Chairman Ryu Jin, Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee, LS Chairman Koo Ja-eun, Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyun-joon, LG Electronics President Ryu Jae-cheol, Hyundai Motor President Sung Kim, Hanwha TotalEnergies CEO Na Sang-sup, NAVER CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Celltrion CEO Seo Jin-seok.
From the French side, attendees include Francois Jacob, chairman of the Korea-France economic cooperation committee at the French business federation, BNP Paribas Chairman Jean Lemierre and L'Oreal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus.
At the event, Lee will hear from companies on expanding bilateral business cooperation and stress the importance of economic ties between South Korea and France, which share common values and trust at a time of transition in the global economy, Kang said.
Discussions will cover representative cases of cooperation between companies of the two countries across four themes — advanced industries, energy and sustainable chemicals, decarbonized mobility and infrastructure and finance, and health and beauty — along with practical ways to expand that cooperation.
