Meeting Korean Americans, Lee Says Global Industry Can't Run Without Korean Chips

President Lee Jae-myung, who is visiting the United States, stressed on the 25th that "a new era known as the age of artificial intelligence (AI) is dawning" and that "a truly new opportunity has come to Korea."
Lee made the remarks while attending a luncheon meeting with Korean expatriates held at a hotel in downtown San Francisco. "Just as humanity discovered a new fire and began a new history, an era is coming in which we cannot live without AI," he said.
Referring to Korea's changed standing, Lee stressed, "In the past, the mention of Korea would bring to mind scenes of children who had lost their parents in war wandering the streets, but now we have reached a situation where global industry cannot run without Korea's semiconductor factories. It has completely changed the impression of Korea."
