Brooke Henderson (29, Canada), a star with 14 career victories on the LPGA Tour, has announced her engagement. Her partner is Ricky Castro (27, U.S.), a pitcher in the U.S. minor leagues.
On the 20th (Korea time), Henderson and Castro each posted photos on their Instagram accounts showing off their engagement rings and wrote, "Thank you God for bringing us together!"
Henderson is reported to have accepted Castro's proposal just two days after finishing runner-up at the Evian Championship, a major tournament held in France. On the final day of the Evian tournament, Henderson mounted a fierce charge with three eagles, including a hole-in-one, but had to settle for sole second place behind winner Ryu Hae-ran.
Henderson, who claimed her first LPGA Tour victory in 2015, has recorded 14 wins through her victory at last year's CPKC Women's Open. Two of these are major titles.

Castro is a right-handed pitcher for the St. Paul Saints, the Triple-A affiliate of the major league Minnesota Twins. This year he has posted a record of five wins and one loss with a 5.21 ERA.
According to Golfweek, the two first met in Naples, Florida, and had been dating since March last year. In an interview with the outlet last year, Henderson said, "He (Castro) also travels a lot and I keep going to tournaments, so we understand each other's lifestyles well. We also know well what it takes to maintain top performance."
