
President Lee Jae-myung said on the 9th that "Korea and Mongolia have agreed that it is desirable to further expand cooperation for stability and development in the Northeast Asian region."
Lee made the remarks in a joint press statement after concluding a summit with Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh at the government complex in Ulaanbaatar. "The two countries have decided to further strengthen cooperation on the international stage," Lee said. "We shared the need to maintain and reinforce the tradition of cooperation and mutual support accumulated on the international stage, and we agreed to work closely on global issues such as climate change and sustainable development."
He added that the two countries "plan to expand cooperation in international organizations and multilateral arenas, and to cooperate closely in elections for international bodies, including the International Court of Justice (ICJ)."
Lee also said, "Today I explained to President Khurelsukh our government's vision for peace and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula, and the president expressed strong agreement on the importance of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia." He added, "I once again thank the president for expressing his intention to always support our government's efforts for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula."
