Samsung Electronics Service won a grand prize at the Korea Management Awards for the second consecutive year, recognized for service innovations aimed at improving customer convenience.
The company said on Sept. 17 that it had been selected for the grand prize in the customer satisfaction category of the CEO division at the 2026 Korea Management Awards. The award follows its win last year.
The Korea Management Awards are organized by the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Kim Young-ho, president and chief executive of Samsung Electronics Service, was recognized for making services easier to use under a "customer first" management approach.
Since April, Samsung Electronics Service has introduced an appointment system at all of its service centers nationwide. The system lets customers set visit times in advance to cut waiting times. For remote islands and mountainous areas, the company dispatches mobile service center vehicles equipped with inspection tools. It also operates on-site repair services for home appliances.
The company is expanding remote diagnostic services for home appliances linked to SmartThings. The service allows product conditions to be checked and some problems to be resolved remotely without an engineer visiting in person. The company also provides support in disaster-hit areas. When floods or wildfires occur, it sends special service teams to clean home appliances and provide free inspections and repairs. In August, it dispatched a special service team to areas of South Gyeongsang Province hit by torrential rain.
"This is the result of all our employees putting a customer-first philosophy into practice," Kim said. "We will continue to expand services that customers can be satisfied with."
