NH Financial Group said on the 9th that it held an appointment ceremony for its global social contribution project, NH Change Makers, in Vietnam over two days from the 7th to the 8th, along with local volunteer activities. The project was carried out with Good Neighbors, an international non-governmental organization specializing in children's rights.
The project is designed to support self-reliance in Vietnam's rural areas. It opens a business contest so residents can address community problems themselves, and then helps carry out the projects selected.
On the first day, NH Financial Group executives and employees visited Son Thuy commune in Tuyen Quang province in northeastern Vietnam. They delivered donated goods for local residents and children and planted trees to help build an environmentally friendly rural setting.
The appointment ceremony for the selected projects was held on the second day. More than 40 ideas were submitted to the contest, and three were chosen after screening.
Attendees included Lim Do-gon, vice president of NH Financial Group's growth strategy division; Ji Sung-wook, head of NH Bank's Hanoi financial center; Moon Sung-geun, head of NH Investment & Securities' Vietnam unit; and Cho Eun-seung, Vietnam country director of project partner Good Neighbors.
"We will put inclusive growth and shared prosperity into practice through solid partnerships with the local government and communities so that we can contribute to sustainable development and self-reliance in Vietnam's rural areas," Lim said.
NH Financial Group treats Vietnam as a core base for its global business. NH Bank operates a financial center in Hanoi and an office in Ho Chi Minh City. NH Investment & Securities continues to pursue localization strategies and social contribution activities through its Vietnam unit.
