Woori Investment Securities said on the 1st that it is running an instant-reward "Wibee Scratch Card" promotion for customers making pension savings account deposits, with the event continuing through November 30.
Both existing pension savings account holders and new customers can take part through the firm's mobile trading system, Woori WON MTS. Once the conditions are met, a scratch card is issued immediately, and customers can see their prize as soon as they scratch it.
The promotion is divided into two tracks: filling the tax deduction limit and transferring pension or ISA accounts from other firms.
Under the tax deduction track, customers receive one scratch card for every 3 million won in net deposits to a pension savings account, up to a maximum of three cards. The annual contribution ceiling for pension accounts, including pension savings plans and individual retirement pensions (IRP), is 18 million won across all financial institutions combined.
Under the transfer track, customers who move a pension savings account from another financial company to Woori Investment Securities, or who roll over maturing funds from a brokerage-type ISA, receive credit worth 1.5 times the amount involved. Depending on the credited amount, the firm pays out cash ranging from 10,000 won to 1.5 million won along with one to 50 scratch cards.
Customers who meet the conditions of both tracks can receive up to 1.5 million won in cash and as many as 53 scratch cards.
Scratch card prizes include a 1 million won travel voucher for first place, a 500,000 won fuel voucher for second, a 300,000 won department store voucher for third, one or two shares of a KOSDAQ 150 exchange-traded fund for fourth, and convenience store vouchers worth 1,000 won, 2,000 won or 3,000 won for fifth. Woori Investment Securities will cover the 22% withholding tax on the prizes.
