T'way Air has marked the second anniversary of its Paris route, one of its main European services, with cumulative passengers surpassing 200,000 as the budget carrier builds competitiveness on long-haul routes.
The airline said on the 28th that its Incheon-Paris route has operated about 490 round-trip flights and carried a cumulative 200,000 passengers over two years since its first flight on August 28, 2024.
By nationality, South Koreans accounted for 64% of passengers, followed by French travelers at 24%, Japanese at 4%, Chinese at 3% and other countries at 5%. Travelers in their 20s and 30s made up 63% of the total, showing demand clearly centered on younger passengers.
In cargo, the airline transported 6,800 tons of import and export freight over the two years using belly cargo space, taking advantage of its wide-body aircraft. It has posted steady cargo results by loading industrial equipment as well as semiconductor components, clothing and cosmetics into air cargo containers.
The Incheon-Paris service departs Incheon International Airport at 10:10 a.m. and arrives at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 6:10 p.m. The return flight leaves Paris at 8:30 p.m. local time and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 3:40 p.m. the following day.
T'way Air, which recently announced a selective service carrier (SSC) business strategy and is preparing to begin operations under the new name Trinity Airways (091810) in the second half, plans to strengthen its service and route competitiveness by introducing the next-generation A330-900NEO wide-body jet and the B737-8 within this year.
"The route to Paris, a city of romance, has maintained stable operations over the past two years based on reasonable fares and differentiated service," an official at T'way Air said. "We will continue to put safe operations first and strengthen our service competitiveness to offer customers the best flight experience."
