Hyundai Motor plans to launch more than 100 new vehicle models by 2030 and expand global production capacity by 1.27 million units over the same period. The automaker will produce its first mass-market model with Level 2+ autonomous driving in 2028 and begin operating an artificial intelligence data center in Saemangeum in 2029.
Hyundai Motor unveiled the medium- to long-term growth strategy at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, held on the 26th at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul's Yeouido district.
Between 2026 and 2030, the company will roll out more than 100 models worldwide, including full redesigns, partial upgrades and derivative models. More than 18 of those will be all-new vehicles in segments where the automaker has not previously competed. Global production capacity, currently about 5 million units, will rise by 1.27 million units to about 6.27 million units, with additions of 500,000 units in North America, 320,000 units in India, 200,000 units in South Korea and 250,000 units in complete knock-down (CKD) production.
On autonomous driving, Hyundai Motor will release its first mass-produced software-defined vehicle (SDV) with Level 2+ capability in 2028, then build out its full lineup up to Level 4. The Saemangeum data center, aimed at accumulating autonomous driving data, will begin operating in 2029.
The company also disclosed on the same day that it will retire its entire holding of treasury shares, worth 800 billion won, and said it would deliver a total shareholder return ratio of at least 35% and a minimum dividend of at least 10,000 won per share.
