BUSAN — Shinsegae Department Store's Centum City said on the 23rd that it will run a pop-up store called "Ikkukjjaeng's Summer Travel," featuring the popular characters Ingmyeong-i, Kkaeguk-i and Oljjaeng-i, on the first basement floor of Centum City Mall through the 10th of next month. The characters, created by the artist Rabu, are known for their small, cute drawing style.
The pop-up is built around the idea that Ikkukjjaeng — a nickname combining the three characters — has traveled from Seoul to Busan to enjoy the summer with customers. Aimed at younger shoppers, including students in the final stretch of summer vacation, it offers about 150 kinds of goods, including plush keyrings, tumblers, hats and pouches.
The pop-up is launching a new "Ingmyeong-i Jagalchi doll," available only in Busan. The exclusive item takes its motif from Jagalchi Market, one of Busan's best-known attractions.
On the 29th, the artist Rabu will visit the pop-up for a fan signing event, open to the first 40 people on-site. In addition, customers who spend more than 10,000 won will receive a signed postcard from Rabu, and those who spend more than 30,000 won will get a prize-draw ticket.
"We have prepared a rich lineup, from special items available only in Busan and a variety of goods to purchase benefits and even a signing event with the artist Rabu," a Shinsegae Department Store official said. "We hope customers will enjoy a fun summer trip with the Ikkukjjaeng friends."
