HD Hyundai Electric (267260.KS) is accelerating its push into the European market by unveiling eco-friendly power technologies at the world's largest power grid exhibition.
The company said on the 21st that it will take part in the CIGRE Paris Session 2026, held from the 23rd to the 28th at the Palais des Congrès de Paris in France.
The CIGRE Paris Session, launched in 1921, is a leading international event in the power systems field, held every two years. Power companies, transmission system operators (TSOs), power equipment makers and technical experts from around the world gather to share the latest technologies in the power industry and the direction of future grid development. The 2024 event drew more than 11,200 participants from 99 countries.
The European Union has recently tightened rules on fluorinated greenhouse gases while restricting the use of gases with high global warming potential, such as sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) used in ultra-high-voltage circuit breakers.
At the event, HD Hyundai Electric plans to showcase 72.5-kilovolt and 145-kilovolt eco-friendly gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) as well as its 420-kilovolt "Greentric 550SRE," which recently completed testing. The Greentric 550SRE is an SF₆-Free GIS model in a key voltage range applied to more than half of Europe's major power grids. On this basis, the company aims to promote its eco-friendly technology competitiveness across various voltage ranges in Europe.
"This exhibition is an opportunity to showcase our SF₆-Free GIS lineup and eco-friendly power technology competitiveness to European customers in one place," an HD Hyundai Electric official said. "Based on our diverse portfolio of eco-friendly power equipment, we will actively respond to demand for the green transition of Europe's power grid and further strengthen our competitiveness in the global market."
Separately, HD Hyundai Electric will host a networking event aboard a boat on the Seine River in France on the 25th, inviting major European power companies and customers. Under the theme "Navigating the Future of Energy," the company plans to share its vision for the green energy transition and future power grids with global power industry figures and explore opportunities for cooperation.
