Lotte Wellfood (280360.KS) said on the 2nd that it participated as an official partner in the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, held at BEXCO in Busan from the 19th to the 29th of last month, promoting K-snacks to delegations from around the world.
During the event, Lotte Wellfood showcased about 3,000 servings of its flagship products, including Pepero and Zec, at the delegation lounge used by participants from 162 countries. On the 25th of last month, when the two-stage extended inscription of "Getbol, Korean Tidal Flats" on the UNESCO World Heritage List was decided, the company presented delegations from each country with the "Pepero Landmark Edition" gift set featuring Gwanghwamun and the Irworobongdo. According to the company, its Pepero Almond and Choco products were depleted fastest, and inquiries continued about the design of the "K-Package Series," which is engraved with Korean palaces and regional names.
At the Korea Pavilion, which general visitors attend, a Pepero brand experience event was held for two days on the 23rd and 24th of last month. Visitors experienced the brand by taking part in various programs using illustrations of Korea's UNESCO World Heritage sites and in social media (SNS) events. The number of visitors to the Korea Pavilion during the event reportedly approached 30,000.
"At the venue of the world's most prestigious international conference, we were able to convey K-snacks and the beauty of Korea on behalf of the Republic of Korea," a Lotte Wellfood official said. "We will continue to solidify Lotte Wellfood's global brand dominance in the world market and contribute to spreading the value of national heritage."
