LG Display (034220.KS) is stepping up its push into the gaming organic light-emitting diode (OLED) monitor market by hosting a "Taiwan Gaming OLED Roadshow," leveraging the world's leading technology and the industry's largest lineup to accelerate efforts to secure global customers.
LG Display said Wednesday that it will hold the "Taiwan Gaming OLED Roadshow" for major global customers in Taipei, Taiwan, from the 4th through the 10th.
Held under the theme "A Faster, Sharper and Brighter Display Experience," the event will showcase the company's advanced gaming OLED products and a roadmap of next-generation technologies. The company plans to present its new technologies to about 20 global gaming monitor set makers and discuss future collaboration plans.
At the roadshow, LG Display will unveil a flagship gaming OLED lineup ranging from the 20-inch to the 40-inch class. Highlights include a 39-inch OLED monitor panel — the only one currently in mass production worldwide — and a 27-inch OLED panel with broad market appeal. The 39-inch panel is the world's first to achieve 5K2K ultra-high resolution and offers a 21:9 aspect ratio along with curvature of up to 1500R (radius), delivering high immersion in racing and simulation games.
Also on display is an RGB stripe OLED panel, the only existing OLED panel to arrange red, green and blue (RGB) subpixels in a uniform size in a single line. The structure features narrow and consistent gaps between pixels, minimizing color bleeding even when viewed up close and producing sharper text. It also supports a high refresh rate of 240 hertz (Hz), making it suitable for both gaming and document work.
In the next-generation technology zone, the company will introduce a gaming OLED that is the industry's first to reach VESA's "DisplayHDR True Black 1000" level. The panel achieves peak luminance of 2,000 nits, enhancing contrast ratio and color expression. A 27-inch 5K OLED panel, with sharpness of 220 PPI, provides an environment suited for precision work such as graphic design and video editing.
LG Display will also showcase Black Frame Insertion (BFI), which smoothly drives high-refresh-rate content without the need for an expensive graphics card, as well as Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) 2.0, which switches between ultra-high refresh rate mode and ultra-high resolution mode.
LG Display holds the top records among existing OLED monitor panels in refresh rate, response time and resolution — the core performance metrics of gaming monitors. It has also set a new low in reflectance, which significantly affects immersion. By applying a proprietary special surface treatment technology, the company has secured the lowest reflectance (0.3%) among existing monitor panels.
Backed by such technological strength, LG Display has secured more than 10 global monitor set makers as customers in about two years since entering the monitor OLED market in 2022. "Based on the technology leadership we have built up in the large OLED segment, we will strengthen our collaborative relationships with global customers," said Lee Hyun-woo, head of LG Display's Large Display Business Unit. "We will deliver the perfect display experience that gamers want and aggressively target the high-end monitor market."
