Hanmi Science, the holding company of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group, has created an official character named "Anne" for Hanmi Pharmaceutical's over-the-counter Anne series, stepping up integrated product branding.
Hanmi Science said on Sept. 14 that it had developed the character to represent the lineup. The Anne series consists of everyday over-the-counter products, including Mok-Anne for sore throat, Nun-Anne artificial tears, Ko-Anne nasal moisturizer, Ko-Anne Cool and Ko-Anne Cool S for nasal cold symptoms, Nun-Anne Cool and Nun-Anne Q eye drops, and Doopi-Anne for seborrheic dermatitis.
The selected character is a girl with red hair and rosy cheeks. The name Anne was drawn from the series' product names, such as Ko-Anne, Mok-Anne and Nun-Anne.
The character was chosen through an internal review and a preference vote among employees. Hanmi Science surveyed employees at group affiliates including Hanmi Science, Hanmi Pharmaceutical, Onlinepharm, Hanmi Fine Chemical and JVM last summer on four candidate designs, drawing more than 500 participants.
Hanmi Pharmaceutical plans to use Anne on product packaging, in-pharmacy marketing materials, social media content and drug advertising.
"The Anne character is an attempt to bring the familiarity and trust of the Anne series together into one consistent world," an official at Hanmi Group said. "We will continue to strengthen our branding through a range of content and marketing activities so that consumers feel even more at home with the Anne series."
