The Asan Foundation said on the 7th that it has delivered $200,000 to the Korean Red Cross to help people displaced by large-scale flooding in Nepal.
The money will fund emergency relief and recovery efforts for affected residents, including food, daily necessities and medical support.
The foundation has provided relief funds whenever large-scale disasters have struck at home or abroad. It delivered $400,000 through the Korean Red Cross after the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and its overseas relief contributions total about 2.1 billion won, covering support for Ukrainian refugees and ethnic Koreans in 2022, victims of the 2018 tsunami in Indonesia and those affected by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal. Domestically, it provided 800 million won between 2022 and 2025 for people displaced by wildfires and floods in Gangwon and North Gyeongsang provinces, and 1 billion won in 2020 for programs to help the country cope with COVID-19.
