Skies will be mostly clear across South Korea on the 5th, the first Saturday of September, with cool air in the morning and evening.
Morning lows are forecast at 16 C to 23 C and daytime highs at 25 C to 32 C. Seoul and Cheongju will see morning readings of 19 C, Chuncheon 17 C and Gangneung 18 C, with many areas in the central region falling below 20 C.
Daytime highs will stay below 30 C in most areas, except parts of the Jeolla region, where Gwangju will reach 32 C and Jeonju 30 C. Seoul, Incheon and Suwon are expected to hit 29 C, Chuncheon, Daejeon and Sejong 28 C, and Gangneung 26 C.
While skies will be mostly clear nationwide, light rain may fall from the afternoon in some areas, including the mountainous parts of Gangwon Province and the northern east coast of North Gyeongsang Province. Rainfall is projected at 5 to 10 millimeters in the mountains of Gangwon and the northeastern mountains of North Gyeongsang, and 5 to 40 millimeters in the mountainous and mid-mountain areas of Jeju Island.
Waves will run 1.0 to 3.5 meters in coastal waters off the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the West Sea and 0.5 to 3.5 meters off the South Sea. In the inner open seas, defined as waters within about 200 kilometers of the coastline, wave heights are expected at 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea and 1.5 to 5.5 meters in the South Sea.
