Yoo Sa-rang, a high school junior, has an antisocial personality disorder that leaves her incapable of feeling the gaze of others or any sense of shame. When she is unintentionally drawn into the "Jjokpallyeo Game" — a game of humiliation run by her classmates — Sa-rang is threatened with a report to the school violence committee over a penalty she carried out during play.
To keep her parents from being summoned to the school, Sa-rang joins the group behind the game. But she carries a secret she must hide at all costs: the body of her mother, who died of illness, is stored in the kimchi refrigerator inside her home.
More than a simple school-violence story, this is a high-tension thriller in which a protagonist harboring a secret collides with characters driven by twisted desire. It builds tension through the clash between a game that weaponizes shame — a universal human emotion — and a protagonist on whom that weapon has no effect whatsoever.
